2017 ResourceWest Volunteer Needs

Winter Volunteer Opportunities

Toy Chest: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d4ba8a72aabf58-resourcewest3

Project based: We often have administrative projects that require 2-3 hours to complete a task.  This is a 2x monthly commitment. If you enjoy and have skills surrounding organization and administration – this is just right for you.  Computer skills are helpful, but, not necessary.

Spring Events: With Empty Bowls on March 7 and SpringFest (annual fundraiser) on April 28, we have a plethora of opportunities that are fun and engaging.  For example, running around town spreading the word about both events, day of activities (greeting, table hosting for the art, serving soup, silent auction assistance).  We can help you make a good fit with either of these events.

Resumé assistance.  We have community members that are in need of Resumé formatting.  If you are a proficient at editing, and word-smithing – this could be a great way to use your skills

If any of these volunteer positions are interesting to you or someone you may know, please contact:

Volunteers are the best!

We couldn’t do what we do without our loyal and dedicated volunteers!  In 2015, volunteers donated more than 1,000 hours! From our Board of Directors who meet monthly and participate in other committee meetings throughout the month, to the dedicated volunteers who contribute to daily needs in the office or to specific projects – we thank you all!

ResourceWest connects volunteers to neighbors in need instilling a sense of community and ownership in our mission.  Along with our staff, volunteers build a stronger community through respectful listening and working collaboratively to address people’s needs.

We are always looking for new volunteers, both on a year-round basis and for special projects. There are many ways to get involved, browse the list below and contact us with your interest.

ResourceWest’s volunteers work in a rewarding environment with the sense of purpose and appreciation that comes from personal interaction with the community members we serve.

We have a few different paths of volunteering with ResourceWest that people could take depending on what interests them the most.  We have weekly opportunities that are centered around the “front desk”.  Our shifts are in 3-4 hour blocks of time and involve administrative tasks and interacting with clients.

Another opportunity surrounds our Children’s Programs: the “Back to School” supply drive, the “Winter Warm Wear” clothes drive, and the “Toy Chest” at the end of the year.  During those drives we are in need of one-time sorters and organizers of supplies as well as shoppers to help clients in the “boutique”.

We also have opportunities for businesses to rally with us to provide for our clients by donating items or monetary gifts.

If you are unsure of where you could fit, I would be happy to sit down with youand explore different ideas.  We are always open to community members’ ideas and various resources as they see the needs around them.
